How to play Connect Four
Be the first to line up four of your discs — across, down or diagonally.
Setup
- The grid has 7 columns and 6 rows and starts empty.
- Red always drops first. Who plays Red is drawn at random for each game, because the first player has an advantage.
Playing
- On your turn, drop one disc into any column that isn't full. It falls to the lowest empty space.
- Players alternate; you can't pass.
Winning
- Four of your discs in a row — horizontally, vertically or diagonally — wins immediately.
- If all 42 spaces fill with no four in a row, the game is a draw (the service fee still applies to staked games).
- 2 minutes plus 3 seconds per move. Running out of time loses the game.
Rule set: Standard Connect Four (7 columns × 6 rows).
